'Active Days' is a service that has been designed as an alternative to traditional centre-based day services for individuals who have learning disabilities. The service provides one-to-one community-based support to individuals to pursue educational, employment, recreational and leisure related interests and goals. The service is provided at times and for periods of time that suit individuals’ needs and wishes, including during evenings and at weekends; the philosophy of the service is “to support individuals to do ordinary things, with ordinary people, in ordinary places at ordinary times”.
