Childrens homes - further information

Childrens homes - further information

Corvedale Care, part of the Care UK group, is a leading provider of residential child care, special education, therapy and adventurous activities. With a wide range of residential provision, we can offer both continuity and progression for children in care, as they respond to the challenges and opportunities we provide.

Corvedale Care runs a number of childrens homes in Shropshire and Wales, and Care UK is looking to expand this provision to other parts of the UK.

The various children's homes are divided into:

Crisis Care

This neither looks nor feels like some larger children's homes; despite its ceiling occupancy level of 8 young people. Instead it has the atmosphere of a very well resourced Outdoor Education Centre.

Young people who have been leading chaotic lives, and who have had difficulty establishing trust with adults, find our programme gives them totally different opportunities. Having their needs met by adults through a series of challenging activities encourages the development of trust and helps them to form attachments. The most effective measurement of the quality of this service is a disruption in placements rate of less than 1%. Crisis Care has every right to be proud of its considerable achievements.

Learning for Life

Learning for Life is a highly specialised service offering Care, Education, Adventure Activities and Psychotherapy to children in care aged ten to sixteen years.

The Learning for Life programme provides a living environment which is suited to individual need and which reflects the value we place upon each young person. Small childrens homes - comfortable and homely properties, situated in the countryside around the market towns of Powys and South Shropshire, offer single, double and small group occupancy accommodation for young people. These locations afford easy access to the Learning for Life school and community resources in the area.

Safe and Sound

Safe & Sound provides medium to long term placements for young people who need higher than normal levels of supervision, a program of activities that allow a purposeful style of life and a programme of education that can provide flexibility and a great deal of individual teacher input.
The homes have benefited considerably from systems of risk assessments, care plans and quality assurance that ensure a clear focus and confident responsive staff team. Safe & Sound is located in the spectacular scenery of Mid-Wales. There are presently three registered Children's Homes.

Into Independence

Into Independence specialises in meeting the needs of young people who are not emotionally or practically equipped to cope on their own.
Into Independence is a well established house based in a leafy community setting in rural Hereford.

We provide accommodation for up to 4 young people aged between 15 and 17 years of age, all of whom have their own bedroom and 24hr staffing from a dedicated and highly trained staff team.
